Smokey voiced chanteuse with a taste for jazz in all its forms, from jungle-juice swing, haunting melancholy and deep blues to gospel and cabaret. Always backed by a selection of Sydney’s finest jazz players, among them Nigel Date, Leonie Cohen, Stan Valacos, Adrian Cunningham, Mark Howard and Alex West (with whom she also co-leads the swingin’ Catfish band). Angie has graced some of Sydney’s biggest jazz stages, including Darling Harbour Jazz Festival, and with an eclectic interest in dance, theatre and cabaret as well as jazz, her shows always offer much more than the usual standards. A big favourite at our Sunday afternoon jazz sessions. |
