Naughty Milk Bar

We saw a little bit of inner-west kitsch down at Opera Bar. Daisy's Milkbar (Petersham) brought their retro feel to the harbour in a collaboration showcasing the best of both venues.

The playful menu will corrupted all your favourite childhood refreshments in a nod to the classic milk bars of yesterday. The much-loved glass of Milo and the humble Cottee's cordial were been given the Opera Bar cocktail twist: nostalgic and naughty. Classic sweet treats weren’t safe either: the Pavlova Colada is a hybrid dessert-cocktail spiked with Bacardi and topped with meringue.

The classic milk bar burger was also revived, and so was the nostalgic deli plate (jatz with olives, cheese & cabanossi).

Guests were asking for second helpings of dessert with trifle, banana splits, and soft serve loaded with Easter eggs. There were lolly bags filled with freddo frogs, red frogs, snakes, bananas, strawberries and cream. They were anble to spend their spare coins on shop counter goodies including fairy bread, chocolate crackles, lamingtons, and hot cross buns.
